In terms of items and experience(+ every other way that could taint a vanilla player), Player versus Player itself is a non-beneficial process, so tainting can't really happen in it. But if a vanilla player wants to stay absolutely pure, he/she could always reset this 'impure' exp gained, by killing the character purposely in Nightmare/Hell difficulty a few times.īut just to stay on the safe side, a vanilla player should probably wait until the Blood Moor has been cleared of monsters by the host or other RWM players in that game.
The monsters are identical to the ones in a vanilla game in every way, thus killing a few monsters in Blood Moor is fine in my book. If a vanilla player accidentally picks up 'RWM tainted' items, he/she should just throw the items away and not use them.Įven if a vanilla player happens to kill a monster, or ten, no tainting has happened yet in my opinion. Repairing items and buying some basic items like Potions/Arrows/Bolts/Keys from shop should be fine too, because shops sell exactly the same things as in a vanilla game.
Replace the 'patchd2.mpq' file with the one in your install directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II). Enables ladder runewords in single player and LAN play, NOT recommended for use with closed. Vanilla player in a Player versus Player RWM-game:Īs long as a vanilla player doesn't pick up any items/gold/etc., I think no tainting has happened yet.
